About

So this is where I explain our journey!

James and I, he likes to goof around :)
I am engaged to my fiance James, who bravely decided to take on this journey with me (and no, not with a lot of pushing and shoving, you know how us ladies can be!)

I first heard about Whole Foods from Pinterest. I started seeing a lot about it through several followers and decided to look more into it. All of the food looked delicious and I was more eager to learn with everything that I read!
James and I are quite healthy eaters to begin with and I have always been curious about natural foods and reading labels. I once asked my dad after looking at a label, "What is this Red #5 stuff?" as a young kid! We haven't always eaten healthy but we have always been health conscious, just not exactly educated.
This is where the more we started to read and watch documentaries about the food system in America and several blogs about why many families have switched to whole foods living influenced us to start making changes in our lives.

Our Goal For Food:
We hope to switch out at least the majority of the food we put into our bodies over the course of a year, and at least doing one change in our lives once a week for the next year.
This isn't a change to lose weight or a "diet", in my opinion. I don't mean to lose weight. In fact, James needs to gain a whole mess of weight! No amount of eating or protein drinks makes him gain weight! In fact, I'm actually hoping for him to gain some weight from the nutrition that he might be lacking in his body.

Our Goal For This Blog:
Writing all of this down does several things for us.

  • It helps us keep on track and continue on course towards transitioning our lives to better health
  • It also keeps information down so that we can go back and read about them if needed.
  • And it reminds us of how far we have come!
  • I also want to educate anyone who reads about the realization of many health issues with their continued eating of processed food throughout their lives. Hopefully some of my posts will inspire someone to at least make some sort of small change in their lives towards better health!
I may not always have the best English and may not always have the most 100% correct information, but I will try my best!
I also want to warn that if there is any controversy over such subjects (one being the added hormones in dairy), I will do what I think is best for my family, and do not mean to point to which is correct or which is "wrong".
I don't think anything in whole foods living can be wrong necessarily, as long as we are all trying our best!
